Jan 20th, 2019 Session | Thoughts and Prayers

Summary
- They picked up Maya's children from Hellsing.
- They talked to Hasmed about creating a ring of force shield but it would cost about 200,000 dollars so maybe not so much.
- Spoke to Wynn about Frithacar Spynewind, a very powerful elf/gnome who is fighting underground in Brazil
and he agreed to set up a meeting with her in a few hours.
- Spoke to Noah about what happened in Krozna and warned him about Selds being back and that he would want to talk to him about fighting together. Noah wants to go to Brazil. Selds and Noah went to talk about stuff.
- Siochan checked in with the Disciples and then went with Maya to talk to Aiden who was picking sticks out of Gabi's hair and he told her that about a week before, he stopped being able to feel Asher. They decided to go try to find Asher and go get something from his house that could be used to locate him. They used his shirt to learn that he was at Poveglia Plague Island, known for being haunted and the home of a mental asylum with a dark past. They went there with Aiden and explored the island, expelling demons and haunts, finding a mysterious portal whose activation phrase was “Tol Acharn” or “Vengeance comes” in Elvish, and fighting a large psychic aberration called “The Matriarch” , a disgusting beast of maws and tentacles, before consecrating the place.
- They found a relic that Blaken identified as a creation of Belial's - Kanthrak's Razor. While a powerful weapon in its own right, if one cut themselves with it, it would possess them and slowly turn them into a half-fiend, forcing them to commit terrible acts. Blaken told them that this was what had happened, most likely, to the doctor rumored to have gone mad here and slain many patients.
-Aiden heard Asher tell him to leave and they realized that to find him, they might have to go through a mysterious portal, which was underneath a deathgate haunt. They headed through after Blaken went to Cania to confirm that the place had once been the home of some Iscariot experiments and was blocked in the basement from angelic scrying, and that Asher had come here with an elf named Elered Cromviel, a past student of Juno's.
- Aiden knew Elered to be motivated by the death of a son long ago and they found themselves outside a door warded against angels/devils as well, and spoke with Cromviel and Asher. Siochan finally convinced him to let them in and they confronted Asher, realizing that he was not himself, and had clearly mapped Cromviel and inherited a lot of his anger and aggression in doing so. They spoke to him about what they were doing there, and it seemed they were mining the dark psychic energies of the place to power a crystal that could be used to strengthen both of them, and then intended to cleanse the place. Siochan was horrified that he was willing to use evil energies to increase his power but he insisted that there was no such thing as “good” or “evil” psionic energy. Asher seemed irritated that they had killed the Matriarch before they could finish whatever they were doing. He said that he had partnered with Elered to learn from him, so that he could “be better” and not be a failure as he had so often been in their eyes. Aiden angrily berated him for calling himself a failure, pointing out that if he thought that, then he must think himself completely above Aiden, who must be less than nothing to him. Siochan convinced Asher to map her once more, and in doing so, said her goodbye to him and he told her that he loved her too, and took off the necklace that was blocking his connection to his brother, apologizing to Aiden and letting them know that he thought that the crystal Cromviel was creating would be used for a dangerous purpose. They decided they would all have to face Cromviel, who Asher told them would not let it go without a fight, and the elf woke from his psychic trance to stand against them.
